yeah the TT350 was a good bike, mate of a mate had one in the day,i rode it a coupla times, not a patch on my it250 of the time but still a great four stroke bike with great handling,an xr 200 was way lame compared i rode one of those aswell, the 600 has single cam with screw and lock nut adjusters on the four valves, the 350 was twin cam 4 valve with bucket and shim, bit more fiddly for the do it yourselfer?lot of em never got done ever and fell into worn outness?also from what ive read on TT forums the 350 was somewhat prone to shearing of the kick start shaft at the case?id never heard of that before.

Check out reply #377 and my son's happy face on a tt350. Technically the tt350 is not street legal here but the xt350 was. There were a few differences in the two models with the tt being a little more dirt orientated.

well the yammy sold, its gone to an owner who had one years ago and also has a couple of xt550s and a husaberg,he didnt even ride it!he had flip flops on,i had work boots so fired it up for him ran it a minute or two then shut it off, paid me and onto his trailer,he came a long way from a place called Casino, got what i wanted for it more or less,i think i actually made a couple hundred bucks on it over what id spent getting it sorted, plus i put 10,000 kays on it.

Congrats on the sale. Good luck with your wrist. Will a throttle tube modified for more pull with less twist help you on your Honda?

Well done Dave, and testament to my theory about old Jap bikes going for big bucks, I didn't pay much more for the Ducati I bought last week. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Yep I still don’t know why the Ebay seller didn’t let the auction for the Ducati go until the end, the going rate for a good S4 is $8-10K and my max bid was $8699 (and I probably would have gone higher) but he messaged me when it got to $5800, a day before the end of auction saying that he’d cancel the auction if I agreed on $6K plus $200 for a Roadworthy certificate? Definitely one of the best bargains I’ve had, even if I still don’t understand why? I did all the checks and the bike is kosher. ;D

E-bay can leave a big paper trail and maybe he did not want that tagging along behind him.

He could be in the middle of a divorce and had to split the proceeds... At that point finding a good buyer even at a lower than market price can be attractive. Good karma for the seller in any event.

He offered me another Ducati yesterday, a 916 race bike, for $5K AUD, which was stupidly cheap, I checked the VIN and it’s kosher too, but I don’t want a race bike that’s not registered or roadworthy, so I had to say no. He wants my Suzuki T500 and I told him that I’m up for swaps with any cash difference going my way, so he’s working through his Ducati inventory (he’s got more than 10) until he finds one that I would own. ;D

Thanks Bill, I definitely won’t sell the T350, but I’m not that fussed about the T500. ;D

I told him that a good T500 goes for upwards of $12K, and while mine isn’t a big dollar build, it’s very presentable and a good runner so I won’t take any less than $10K, but I’m happy to trade another interesting bike for part, or all, so he’s madly trying to find something that I’ll take.

The good thing is that I’m in no rush, so if he doesn’t make a deal, I’ll eventually put it on the road and do some miles on it, win/win. ;D

its weird old bikes?it seems the worse they are the more sellers want for them stating "these are worth big money done up"or similar?then if you do one up it aint good enough to get value back on the sale?"
