Greetings from Michigan
« on: March 19, 2020, 12:28:43 PM »
Hello everyone,

Glad to find this forum is still active - I am a member on quite a few others (car related) and they all seem to be slowing down. Thanks for letting me join, looking forward to learning a few things. I recently got into riding, only last year. Since then I have convinced a few buddies to join as well. Anyways, my fleet consists of:

1971 CB500k - Stock
1971 CB500k - "Brat" Style, frame hoop, CBR Front Forks/Rear Wheel, patina tank, etc.
1975 CB550k - "Brat" Style, clip ons, shorty cables, 4into1, small stuff here and there
1974 CB750k - Stock
1978 KZ1000 - Project
1970 Cutlass S - 30k OG miles, Sherwood Green on green vinyl, with black vinyl top.
1991 Camaro - Turbo 4.8l LSX, TH350
2011 BMW 335i - Pure Stage 2 turbo, FBO, etc.

I live in Taylor, Michigan, but I do travel for work. Always down to meet up for a beer and talk cars/bikes! I need to get some updated photos but I think you all get the gist.

Thanks everyone!

Just added a photo of the 71' CB500 I am doing a light touch up on. Mainly some wear items, rubbers, etc. It seems to be a well sorted bike without much issues. Hopefully will have it running this weekend!

Also picked up a new seat for the CB750 from another forum member last night. Had it on within a few minutes - so much better than the fugly aftermarket seat that was on it!

Next projects include cleaning up the KZ to sell, and probably selling the 500. I have a few small things to do to the 550 as well as the 750. Main goal is to just enjoy the bikes!

Well, the KZ went away with it's new owner last night. Back to all the SOHC's!

Hopefully will have some garage time this week. Michigan just went into a stay-at-home order, but my job is considered "essential" and so is the business I work for. I'm pretty sure my house inspection on Friday is cancelled, but of course the city hasn't called yet.

Anyways, goal for this weekend are:

- New plugs
- Rebuild front brake
- Verify timing / new points
- Pull carbs to clean, if needed (assuming so)
- Get started!
- Polish Paint, side covers
- Detail bike

Should stay pretty busy. Picked up a new seat for my CB750 as well from Chris, another new forum member. Turns out I actually purchased my CB550 from him! Got me into these bikes.
