Another exhaust identification
« on: April 07, 2020, 03:36:01 PM »
Does anyone recognise this system? No maker's markings on it at all.

It doesn't seem to fit very well, I wonder if the downpipes have been swapped around incorrectly. Do the head port angles ever make that a possibility?

Looks a little like vintage Hooker exhaust and a little like one Carpy sells.

What kind of flange connectors are used at the collar? The stock ones or the MAC type?

pictures show them to be the stock type k0-k6...pretty sure MAC never made such nice looking silencers.  I think Emgo was making a version of that type silencer, but I don't recall them ever making headers for cb750 and those don't look like chopped off stockers.
If it works good, it looks good...

Not the collar, the flanges inside them that press the header into the ports. Those are later style collars, early ones were clamp on I believe. My K8 had the same style collars but with the larger MAC flanges inside for the pipes.

oh yeah...I believe you might be right.  I saw the fins an the early style bodywork and assumed they were clamps and spigots

Yes it has the later type flanges, here's a photo showing them. I'm not familiar with the Mac connectors at all, but these pipes look like they would be used with Honda fittings

I don't see a 4-2 on Carpy's anymore but I swear he was selling a set similar to that at one time. I might be crazy, though.

And those are definitely more pointy than Hooker.
