Rick's rect/reg combo placement on CB550K
« on: April 13, 2020, 12:35:31 PM »
Those who installed Rick's R/R cmbo unit 10-100 (https://ricksmotorsportelectrics.com/OEM-Style-Honda-Rectifier-Regulator-10_100) on CB550K, can you share where did you place it?
if you have some photo, even better

Ideally I'd like to put in instead of OEM regulator or rectifier unit, but without need to modify in any mean the bike itself (no extra hole, nor modification of metallic "electric plate".

Why I want to replace stock OEM regulator - it is charging low in RPMs above 5500 (I tested two, result the same, after carefull cleaning, adjustment), electronic unit I tested (Electrex, UK) works good, stable, but too big to fit.

Install it on the back side of the electric panel thereby the connectors still route to the stock harness plugs. It will just fit between panel and battery box.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis
