if I get that far up into this with a business I would be investing in the metal 3d printers for this stuff and for fun get the mill equipment and go to town with as much stuff finned as I could handle. still have the starter delete plug in the works but where it is just the two ends that bolt into the engine and the starter cover itself

forgot to throw up a pic of how massive these sand moulds are. these are 13x15 and the bottom is 3 inches deep while the top is 6.

it was easier to use the angle grinder with thinner cut off wheel and just eye it.

pretty sure the rods can build up enough to get the lip filled in but if not removing it the cover would still look good

thank grcamna2 if I was making more of these I would use the fins as a template to overlap the origina side cover so as to not have to remake but since this will be the end of the line I will let it go. I got 3 of the fins filed down mostly. after all of them are filed I can go back and finish them up depending on what gurp has in mind.

I think that this cover would look good having some contrast either painted and the fin interior left bare or a two tone for it but I will leave that up to gurp for this one

It's coming out perfect. My plan is to run it completely bare just to show off the skill of its Creator. This 550 chopper has a few of your cast pieces and they really pop so well!

Wolf that is some nice work... Custom cover, worth far more than anyone would reasonably pay...
Nice custom build that is resto-mod or a custom build with reengineered and custom touches like these side covers.
Some nice paintwork and you have some custom bling no one else has making the bike very unique, not the of how cool is my cookie cutter copy of everyone else's build ideas turning out custom bike that don't look very different than any other cafe or whatever type bike.
Those will look great when finished up as they already look incredible. Very nice work.
David- back in the desert SW!

thanks RAFster122s this has definitely come a long way from that first pic from the beer can days LOL! I can see when I am working on all of these pieces how a mill or a 3D printer or a CNC would give me the ability to mass produce everything but like everything I have made the little mistakes, deep grooves, thicker fins, casting pores I think it makes the pieces stand out and when I put the wolf550 on them Im glad that someone appreciated it enough to want it
