Where to get parts in Canada?
« on: April 11, 2020, 07:53:42 AM »
Hello All,

Just joined the site. My 76F was a daily driver for many years. Then I took it apart to solve a weeping head gasket and now I have it down to the bare frame.

Where would be the best place to get tapered steering stem bearings and new swing arm bushings in Canada?

Go direct to All Balls for the bearings? or through a distributor? Are bushings still available from Honda.

Thanks for any help.

Also I think the motor I have is a 76 K motor ( I had to swap it years ago when a chain broke and punched a hole in the case). I have a few 78F motors and I'm thinking about a franken motor. Late model hi-comp head and then I will pick the gear ratios I want (I'm thinking maybe lower 1st gear from an F and higher top gear from a K. Does make any sense?

For the most part your local motorcycle shops can order anything you want or you can order some things from fort nine.

I’m in Ontario. Vintagecb750.com is in Ontario and I get next day delivery! They have swing arm bushings.  Note the pricing on the site is $US. The best deal I got on the stem bearings (all balls kit) was on EBay. Took a few days.

Fortnine for the steering bearings and all kinds of other stuff.

Vintagecb750 has a lot too but they charge in US dollars despite being in London ON.

Your local honda dealer has lots of parts too. Just have part numbers ready for them because their knowledge of vintage stuff might not be the best.

I use bike bandit & cmsnl to get the part #'s I need.

Dont forget the 78 modles nearly always need head work due to bad guides
