Rear wheel on CB750K8 off center?
« on: April 15, 2020, 10:05:04 PM »
Hi there,
thanks to the quarantine I finally started with my CB750K8 cafe racer build.
To make my life easier, I 3D scanned my bike. During the scanning phase I noticed that the rear wheel is somehow crooked?!
So after I loaded the 3D files I added 2 planes thru the center of the bike. One plane was using the center column as a reference and one plane uses both horizontal tubes as reference. (blue lines in attached pictures)
Anyways, it looks like the rear wheel is about 3/16" shifted to the left and the top tends to lean to the right. My question is, is this normal?
The frame looks pretty straight so far but I will scan frame and swing arm in high detail sometime next week.
Carbs are also leaning 8.5deg outwards which sounds a bit odd to me!?

Since we talk about the rear wheel. Is there a plug&play wheel with a smaller drum?

Thanks,
Tom

First check is use a straight edge and see if it is line with the front wheel and a plumbob to see if it actualy vertical.
Frames can be bent in odd places
