Made a beta version of a new choke linkage. Have to adjust geometry a little before I make the final version.

Hope this will not leak oil... Added thread locker that seals. Oil lines hopefully arrives tomorrow or early next week.

Maby a bit on the long side, but a bit to short would have been a disaster.


Last piece of the puzzle is in the making. Need an adapter plate to make the 550 dyno cover to fit. Tried cutting the aluminum plate with an angle grinder. Even with a aluminium disc it was difficult. Plasma cutter was a success!

Awesome! Once it’s running open the tappet covers and have a look for a healthy amount of oil splashing around. Only thing I’m a little nervous about is how much the double banjo bolts stick out from the head. It’s like the first thing that would get ripped off if you went down. That’s how it looks in the picture at least. I wonder if you could use hard line from under the ignition cover and route it up between the 2&3 intake runners staying close to the engine and then branch out with the flexible line to either side of the head.

I like the idea of the oil lines, but you should definitely shorten that one line up so it doesn't get caught on the rider's/your leg in an inopportune time.

I rerouted the oil line a bit.

Adapter plate done. Plasma cutter and rotating file worked fine

So close now! Will so some checks and then it’s startup. Still have some stuff to do with stator mount. But I’ll start without charging Next project will be to tidy up all cabling around the head light.

Yes a vfr800 -98. The problem with 650 is the dyno cover. I manage to fit a 550 cover. Not a perfect fit.. Might have to learn aluminium casting to make one that fits perfect.

No startup today. One carb is leaking fuel. It’s from the float bowl gasket. Ordered a kit and will try to make it work for at short test start.

Fuel level shouldn’t be that high anyway. Did you tap on the bowl with a screwdriver handle to see if it was just hung up?

So close now! Change gaskets in all carbs. Result threads on one screw came out with the screw. So now I’ll have to make a thread insert.

Stator is in place now. Only have to drill for screws
