Thanks! I’ve spent quite some time on jetting. Followed a good guide. Start with idle adjustment and slow speed jets. Then midrange and last 3/4 to full throttle. Maby dyna ignition helps?

Yeah sounds great! Glad you’re getting the jetting going but normally you want to go mixture screws for idle, main jet, and then work your way down from there. If you go right up the line - mixture screw, slow jet, needle, main - then once you change the main that will alter the ones below it. Main jet affects everything from about 1/4 throttle up. But either way you do it you’ll learn something, haha

Well guess I’ll have to redo jetting a bit then.. everything is wired now. To bad we got weather similar to a monsoon now. Does not work well without rear fender. HAHA

Checked the voltage today. Stable 14.4V at high idle. Have to do some measurment while driving. If it is 14.4 all the time it should be safe for lithium battery?

My shorai’s max is 15.2 but any lithium battery you get will say what the voltage requirements are. I’d bet you’d be fine. Look on their websites though and it will say.

14.4 should be okay but like Dave suggested, check the battery specs. You have the correct type of reg/rect.

On the flip side, make sure to check your battery especially if you take a long break in riding (or storage). If the voltage drops to a certain threshold, it will not recharge.

Yes, 14.4V is optimum for LiFePo batteries.

What did you come up with for a taper angle on the two parts? I went with a CBR600RR rotor because it is much thinner than the VFR one and thinking since it was a honda they would be the same but the rotor angle was a little larger than the crank taper.

I measured it to 5 degrees. But I used a micrometer on my lathe to adjust the taper. Of I would do it again I would go with a cbr rotor. There is very limited space worh the vfr one.

Some minor stuff has been done. Got my hands on some fine cb650 custom forks. My old one was leaking. Will shorten them later. Bought emulators from Mikes XS.

Fork feels a bit mote smooth now. I have not adjusted the emulators and all I hade in my garage was 10W for oil. 15W is recommended.

I hope so! Will take some time since I got my hands on an incomplete hub. Have to make a few collars, and I’m tripple checking all measurments for the spokes.

Waiting for parts. Ordered spokes and they were to long. Waiting for a thread rolling head. Shipping is slow these covid-days.
