CB750K8 head light and seat bolts
« on: February 11, 2007, 01:04:33 PM »
I just bought my first bike yesterday and the guy I bought it from didn't have the right bolts for the head light. The grounding wires soldered and crimped on and I would rather not make a splice on the wires just so I can go to Lowes to get the right size. Does anyone know the right size?
Also the bolts that are used for the hinge isn't there either. Plus the key doesn't work on the seat lock anyways. Thanks for any help that you can give. I will keep searching the forums for clues.

Welcome to the forum. The headlight bolts are a Honda bolt because they also hold the reflectors on the side of the headlight bucket. You can probably use a metric bolt to hold the headlight but you won't be able to mount the reflectors. Sorry, I don't know the bolt size. Someone else here probably does.

The seat attaches with a long pin and a clip. You could either get the right part or find a bolt that will work.

Have you tried pushing down on the seat while turning the key?

The seat key on my bike was very funky.  I had to hold it about half way out and wiggle it around to get it to pop the seat.

The Honda partsfinder seems to be down.  I'll check it tomorrow -- it may have the bolt size.

Thanks for the help. For now I am using bolts off of the armrest of my desk chair. The seat is held on by gravity for the most part. I can get it in the seat lock and just lift it from the side that should be held down by the hinge to get it off. I'll try to see if the key will work by trying the ways you have suggested.
