Ceramic Coating for cylinder/head
« on: April 27, 2020, 09:55:32 AM »
How do you racer types feel about ceramic coating for the outside of your head/cylinders? I know the benefits for exhaust pipes and I'm wondering how that would translate up to air cooled parts. Would that keep more heat in the combustion chamber or create more heat soak?

Thoughts?

They make thermal dispersion coatings that are a better choice for that application.

Thx; Can you recommend a company to work with? Jet-Hot makes a few coatings that peaked my interest which is why I asked.

Cerakote has been used one heads and cylinders for years and is said to work great....but read the instructions.   Proper application is no easy task.
If it works good, it looks good...
