Bol'dor m/cyl
« on: February 12, 2007, 02:38:04 AM »
I'm using a 1980 Bol'dor mastercylinder for the twin discs on my K7.

This is weeping fluid between the reservoir & the body.

Drained the reservoir & can't find any hidden screw etc holding it on.

Can pry it up around the edges but it seems to be stuck in the middle (the depression that actually fits into the body)

Are these just a tight fit or is there some secret?

Anyone know?

It probably has corrosion between plastic and alloy, just above 'O' ring where you cant see it.
You may want to find a new nylon part before you go any further, just in case you break it.
It should be possible to rotate it when all the screws are out (It does have the long screws going into alloy of master cyl, not the short ones with hidden screw under centre drop?)

Thanks Crazy

I thought it might be the corrosion thing but I wanted to see if anyone else thought likewise.

Yeah, it has the four screws (now socket head cap screws after I had to drill them out) going into the body so it's time for a case of beer & some very gentle prying.
