Cb550/cb500 069A carb gasket kit: Which o'ring goes where!
« on: April 30, 2020, 10:50:35 AM »
Hey! I'm rebuilding my CB550 069A carbs and are now doing the final steps. I've bought new Honda OEM gaskets but I'm not 100% sertain which of the pointed out oring's ( No 1 or No 2) is for the float needle valve seat / Float bowl drain screw. Yeah it's a small thing but may as well ask as I'm not 100%, would be very unnecessary to mess this basic thing up.

Is this correct:
No.1: Float needle valve seat
No.2: Float bowl drain screw

Sorry for the link, could'nt get the photo to show up "here".

Thanks in advance!

The O rings you should get are
Float bowl
Inlet needle valve seat
Main jet
Drain screw
Mixture screw
Inlet fuel teex2.

I have a very early parts book that lists individual part numbers and sizes, if i get chance tomorrow i will look it up for you

The 069A carbs originally do not have an O-ring for the mixture screw.
What I see in the pic are:
Float bowl
Inlet needle valve seat (no. 1 in the pic)
Main jet (smallest)
Drain screw (the thicker one, no. 2 in the pic)
Inlet fuel T-joint x 4. This fuel supply T-joint needs two on either side but... when it's not leaking, leave it alone! My T-joint O-rings are still OK after 44 years and they have been treated roughly. It will save you the trouble of separating the carbs. Honda did real well to fit two on either side.

¡Bienvenidos Edmo! Tonight our queen Máxima (born: Zorreguieta) will be interviewed on Dutch tv.
Here goes, in millimeters:
Bowl gasket: 67x1,9
Main jet: 4,2x1,1 (some advice 1,2)
Drain screw: 4,5x1,8
Inlet valve: 5,7x1,3
T-joint: 7,8x1,9 (two on each side)

These O-rings will suit carbs: 627B, 649A, 022A, 087A and 069A. You may try to find Viton O-rings. I do not know what fuel you have in Argentina. I mean the percentage of alcool.
