No, it's too large.  I use 3/16" fuel line from the auto parts store when I dont want to wait...

I got 5.5mm plastic line from Suzuki. It looks exactly like the 1/4" that I used on my lawn mower, but it was on a roll marked 5.5mm and sold in bulk by them
