CB500 cylinders rock on oil jets won't go down (solved)

Finally got up the guts to start on the cylinders and head got the lost one in the cylinders but when I get the cylinders down they seem to not go into the oil jets they just rock on the top? Any suggestions?

Good question I'll look at the parts diagram I don't think that they can fit snug into the block like they did?

Thanks Bodi! You hit the nail on the head. Looked at the parts diagram and they are small dia. up I had them small side down it just so happens that the lip  in the block has an inside dia. That fits th small side like a glove! Oh and on the same diagram I noticed that I was going to put the cam chain guide in wrong also.

Not the first to put the guide in wrong, most people dont notice till the cam sprocket wont go on
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!
