A bit of Forum ettiquette.
« on: May 15, 2020, 01:24:00 PM »
I would like to mention it does not hurt, to put enough info in a new topic to express the general meaning, it's considerate to do so. If you use a word that has more than one meaning, add something to it to give an idea of content.
A lot easier all around .
If you place an ad , maintain it. Check it often. Update it if it changes. I responded to a for sale ad on here within a day or two, seller never came back with reply in 2 months. That is a waste of resources.
Sometimes I look for and find what the person needs, and I post that on here, if I don't hear back in a week I don't want to deal with them. I had someone come back after 6 weeks if more saying they then want it, I tell them I won't sell to them. Be reasonable.. its a free ad, its a privelege, dont abuse it.

Don't be thinned skinned, some one makes  a comment you don't like, it does not make it fighting time..

One thing I see  once in a while, a low post count member come on looking for parts, but you get the impression theyposted on every forum they could think would help. Then they don't come back for a week or longer. It's like they forgot , or found what they need elsewhere. .. but don't come back to change the ad.. it's frustrating...

hmm...etiquette...thin-skinned.
A standard action and ploy by cliques ( social, internet, etc.) who throw , often veiled,  insults and derogatory comments at any one person or another group that are undeserved. When the one person or group responds in kind in a justified defense, the offending clique THEN claims the "oh, don't be so thin-skinned" or "can't you take a joke"....passive/aggressive tactics, also known as " bullying " while getting support from members of the clique in further attempts at humiliation........nothing  new....
etiquette, yep. something well worth practicing.....so +1 on that....

And there’s one more type

Looking for something desperately, send photos, send price find out shipping cost and then they don’t even respond. Doesn’t hurt to say

“ sorry don’t like, want better condition”
Or
“Too pricey for me”

Very upsetting to be ignored like this when you are trying to help a fellow member complete his bike.
