'77 CB400F Carb Basics
« on: May 16, 2020, 09:28:34 AM »
I'm working on cleaning my '77 CB400F carbs - and familiarizing myself with just what I need to pay attention to, to do it effectively.  Anyone who knows these things well want to look over my shoulder while I go over the details, and perhaps get a few questions answered?

Maintenance and cleaning can be done without having to separate carbs from the rack.

Thanks Deltarider... I do know that much!  Rather than trying to work with "take them apart and clean all the passages," what I'm interested in is specifics about what exactly needs to be done and why.  But rather than just asking for someone to do the work for me, I've been studying the carbs, trying to figure out which passages and tubes and connectors orifices do what.  I thought I'd post what I think I've learned; hopefully someone who knows this stuff already can just say yay or nea, and perhaps answer whatever questions come up.  And just maybe other newbies like myself can learn a bit as well...
