Couldn't resist!
« on: May 15, 2020, 06:25:28 PM »
I picked up another today, this time a 750k8 with 24k on the clock. Basket case with title for 3 Bills, no seat, no tank.

I needed an excuse to hang out here more often anyway.

The kid even threw in a beer coaster!

As I was getting back home there were some spectacular lightning strikes and the weather report said tornado warnings were in effect for a few more hours so I left it all loaded in the van overnight.
I'll get some photos later on after unloading and see what a closer inspection reveals. I'm dreading this part.

I'll bet that was good to the last drop Steve.

Got it all unloaded, I'm not too happy so far but it could be worse. I guess I should start a build thread.

Here you go: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,182592.0.html

I could use some advice, but I probably know the answer already.

Did it "run when parked" ?  Looks like someone got hot and heavy in a project then quit maybe.

Yup, from what I can tell someone did a top end rebuild with non-stock pistons of some sort, bore and compression unknown but I think the cam is stock.

Unfortunately the PO liberally used some sort of blue sealer on the base and head gaskets.

If you see sealer be concerned about where it oozed on the inside.

I tend to agree but want to hear it from members with lots of engine building under their belts.

Thanks!
