What Honda model does this seat belong to?
« on: May 20, 2020, 07:30:12 AM »
Purchased my project bike, 74 CB550, online have had my share of unpleasant surprises.  One of those is that the seat is not the correct one for my bike.  It sits on the bike ok, but the brackets and lock don't line up to the frame.  Can anyone tell me which model\year this belongs to?

For some reason it reminds me of a scrambler seat like a 350 or lower. Thats just a random guess though.

That does look like an early CB350 twin seat
75' CB400F/'bunch o' parts' & 81' CB125S modded to a 'CB200S'
I love the small ones too !

Its def a CL seat.  Most likely a early model CL350. CL seat have the side rivets, CB's do not.

Third vote for CL350 seat. Or similar.
'71 CB500 K0
'17 Triumph Street Scrambler
'81 Yamaha XS650

Hey I guessed right! I'm rebuilding my 75 CB550 and could use a seat. Does everything line up except for the lock? Like could you install it fine without the lock?

Neither the hinge brackets nor lock line up with my 74 550.  From the replies it sounds like it would fit a CL350.  If you know anyone that needs one, just let me know.

The 72' CL350K4 has a seat latch/lock which locks and needs to be opened with a key:the same as the CB550,CB750,etc.I think this is the 71' K3 which has this style latch, plus the seat cover has that later pattern square sections on top..  But the thing is, that seat cover is from a CB because the CL's all had covers with patterns of ribs running from left to right, from what I've seen.
