1982 was the last 650 SOHC motor, and 1983 was the first 650 DOHC motor. Both came with Keihin CV carbs, but completely different models. The big hurdle would probably be carb spacing differences between the two models. If they aren't exactly the same then you'll have to figure out some custom carb insulator solution and a custom airbox.
