Which kick starter to use?
« on: May 23, 2020, 09:09:06 PM »
Hi there

I’m putting together a K2/3 that has been messed with by previous owner and then me when I pulled the engine out to rob some gear selector parts.

I’m putting in my old engine from my K2 and grabbing parts from different unlabled boxes.

I think the “straight” kick starter is the right one, but what would the other one be from?

Thanks for any info or thoughts.
Scott

I would have to look at my shop to be 100% sure but I think the bent one is for a F or Super Sport model.

The straight one is correct for the earlier model. The one with the dog-leg was used on K7/K8 F2/3, and has a longer lever which can hit the plastic side cover on recoil if used on early models. I found that out the hard way. :(
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Cheers guys

If I can get this bike out the way it gives me the chance to work on the 1000CC engine (world record slowest build) and the Rickman ( couldn’t count the years)
