1975cb400f crankshaft issue
« on: May 24, 2020, 07:00:50 PM »
While trying to slip my pistons into cylinders i noticed my crankshaft. will only spin in one direction. Not sure if that is normal or not. Was wondering if that is normal and if not how do i rectify the problem would sure like to hear from other more experienced members. this is my first time to disassemble and rebuild a SOHC four. when i push down on the kickstart lever it will move in the normal direction but not the opposite.

It should be able to turn in both directions. check that the cam chain is not jammed up on the crank sprocket.

If the starter motor is installed it will make turning the crank "backwards" very difficult.
