Led signals
« on: June 12, 2020, 11:16:22 AM »
I’m removing the original break light and swapping the original turn signals with brake/turn signal combo lights on my CB550. Everything works fine except when activating the right or left turn signal switch, all four turn signal leds come on. They flash at the correct speed. Do I just need to add resistors to the orange and sky blue wires?

Just refit the incandescent bulbs, send those LEDs back to China and be done with it.

Check your wiring to the brake light/turn combo you have something crossed.

As his model is probably the one with one idiot light for the indicators, he will need diodes.

I’ll try the diode as it does have only one idiot light.
I would love to keep the original turn signals if there was a retro to include the brake.
Thanks for the info.

Sorry, please explain differently so I can understand better?

If I could keep the look and shape of the original turn signals but include the brake lights I would do that. I want a smooth rear fender without the Massive light but need to figure something for the brake light. Thus the combo turn signals. If there’s a red\orange lens for the original turn signal I would be interested.  :)

Have a look at this:

Maybe you can use the red lenses and 3-wire signals on the rear?
