550 rear wheel
« on: May 29, 2020, 11:51:02 AM »
Hi I have change the back wheel on my bike from a mag to an original spiked wheel but when the wheel is centred with the mud guard the 2 sprockets are not in line. When the sprockets are in line the wheel is about an inch to the left of the mud guard. Any help would be appreciated.

When are the wheels in line, that is more important than eithe sprokets or mudguard

So your bike is a 550, what's the wheel from? I understand 550 and 750 wheels are the same, but 750 wheels 69-76 used a different sprocket carrier than 77-78. Maybe swap sprocket carrier from your mag to the spoked wheel?

Hi yes my bike is a 77 550 and the spoke wheel is from a 750 ( possibly 1978 ) I will try the sprocket carrier as suggested. Thank you

550 and 750 sprocket carriers are NOT the same. Also swing arm widths, brake plate and shoes,  spacers and washers are different
