Owner bought it from the Omaha police dept In the 70s and the title show that but obviously not a police bike   Lots of add ons.

Some old school stuff on that. Not sure what is possibly cop bike or not. What's your plan with it ?

Looks good, be sure to offer up some of those chrome bars and guards for sale if you go stock with it.

I will pretty much clean it up and leave as is.   I like the look.  I am new to CB750s.   There is also a parts bike there that I could probably grab for a 100 or so. Are the side-saddles aftermarket for a bike or just mounted ammo boxes?

Sorry for the double post

Those don't seem to be ammo boxes to me. I'd grab the parts bike for $100.  I recently bought a 750K8 basket case with title for $300 and people say that was a steal.

Was white even an option?  I looked on the thread about colors and don’t see it?  Looks factory but who knows what has been changed.

Thanks for all the comments and help.

I think police bikes were always available in white only, but I thought that included white frame paint too.

I am to the belief it is not a police bike due to no white frame, fenders and speedo. Came from a police dept but they might have just used a regular bike for it.  Has some weird switches on left side handlebars.  I attached a pic of the title that the owner had not switched to his name yet.  Looks like it was white originally.

I recently past February worked for a California LA motorcycle cop! Retired! He was same age as my Father! I saw the plaques on his wall and had to ask! He is 72 years old. Yes the white 750 was real. I was very surprised that he was never in a major accident.

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

I don't think it's a factory P bike. Does it have 2 instruments or 1 ?
I think it's an off the shelf 750 converted for Police use, so still a real cop bike.  Just not sent from factory as one.

Looks like it may be an original title from 1974. The frame number is blacked out on the title but do notice the first two numbers are 23 so that would make it a K4.

Just FYI; I used to work on a fair amount of cop cars in the auto body world.  It is possible that this was a police bike but that they purchased it from a dealer (possibly multiples at the same time, most dealerships I worked at did this) and then had the dealer's paint shop paint them.  A lot of police departments are cheap and don't want to spend any money.  It was probably cheaper to get a package deal from the dealership to have their shop paint it white with some cheap single stage and they probably took it to some other shop to hack the accessories on, again at a reduced price.

Also, the weird controls on the left could have been for anything... lights, radio, you name it.  Most of that stuff, even in modern cop cars that I've worked on was almost always half-assed weirdo aftermarket stuff.  The shops they had that installed them usually did a poor job.  Again... because a lot of police departments don't want to spend the money.

They probably removed the lights and the radio if it was there.  Most decommissioned vehicles that I've come across tend to leave the spotlights intact; but you never know...

Two gauges.  Thanks for all the comments.   I am just going to clean it up and use it as is.  Sorry I blacked out title stuff as I was not sure it was safe to post.  It is loose and appears in ok shape.   There is also some wierd indicator light.

I love the foot boards.   Has to be comfortable to ride.

Another thing I forgot to mention: the fact that there may be overspray or little to no sand/denibbing/buff work on the paint does not rule this out as being a police vehicle.  I've done many jobs where unfortunately the police department refused to pay for any proper R&I... this means half-assed taping of mouldings and tucking paper behind places and we simply used a rag with thinner to wipe off any excess overspray that may have travelled where it shouldn't.

Ran across this today in a little googling.   I’ll give a little more info and I overlooked something.  In addition to this CB750 I picked up a little cb200 from the same guy.  It is white and is pretty rough so I didn’t plan on keeping it.  I looked at the title again and found it is also a 1974 and was sold same time to the Omaha police dept.  I didn’t put two and two together until I googled this.

Am I safe in assuming this is a wixom wind shield on this bike?

Has anyone heard of this place?

Perhaps they were the ones outfitting black framed Hondas as police bikes?

I just sold one of them, a copy if a Wixom I believe.
Here is one difference, the Wixom I think fits over the stock signal lights, the poke thru a hole.
The other brand has a flat spot for the signal and you mount a light  onto the fibreglass.

Meaning Twelfth Dimension Manufacturing Corporation not Wixom. I'm fairing literate these days.
