I watched the video again.
It is really amazing how much time he puts into making the knife. Also so neat to see the use of the oil, acid, and sand to get the design to come out of the steel.
I liked that he took a break to make a cup of tea too :-)

Did you see the coupling on the back and forth sander?

I'm not sure what you mean. I was a bit puzzled as to why the knife didn't go shooting out from under that sanding wheel, cuz I'm sure that is what would have happened to me ;-)

This is what I mean, looks like two short "timing" belts used as a coupling.

And the knife shoots out for even the most experienced knife makers every so often.  I got enough to do without making knives but I follow out of curiosity several groups in States and in Czech.

Oh ya, that was pretty cool.
He had a lot of specialized equipment.
My 7 year old son ended up watching about 5 of the gys videos. He got a real kick out of it too.

I can't stand reality shows with all the drama and bs moderators bring in, but I will entertain myself for hours with videos of sawmilling, blacksmithing, machining etc.

Same here!
We don't watch TV often but when we do it's usually someone building something :-)

I have a friend who is a knife maker, I will have to show this to him and see what he thinks. He makes the knives and also does the leather work for the sheaths. A very talented guy.

Your o ring chains are no good here...
Some of the chopper guys are welding the rivets, then standing the whole link  smooth. All of them and running the chain.
