stopped counting the number of failed Dyna S i've seen in road racing. the idea of potting the electronics with the pickups and all attached to a boiling engine is no bueno. maybe ok for street bikes that dont get that hot, or for dragsters that make short runs is ok, but as rule, electronics should stay away from heat, transistors dont like to be near it....
dont know the dyna 2000 that well. if the timing plate is just the pickup coils and no electronics to get fried, then it is a better design better in that sense, but at what? 400$? totally overpriced IMHO
ill stick to my GSXR boxes, never a failure in 13 years of racing/street riding, 30-50$ for perfectly working used ones
, add a few dozen $ more for the rotor and pickups.
admittedly, not programmable but i only care for max advance with a slotted plate
