Bigger liners in 550 cylinder block
« on: June 15, 2020, 02:11:02 pm »
Hi everybody, I am new to this board, and I must say there seems to a lot of knowledge floating around here!

I have read some threads regarding building a really big bore cb 550 using bigger liners and pistons. I own a cb 500 four based cafe racer that I have dedcided to give some attention.
My setup will be; 650 head, 650 or 750 carbs slide type not cv´s, 65 mm pistons, Webcam 358 B or cb 650 cam,and a MAC pipe.
Now, I recall reading somewhere that the dohc 750 liners would be usable, and the dohc cb 900 F too. I just ordered a set of 900 cylinders complete with pistons, from my main supllier Ebay, and I thought that as I will surely have to modify any piston anyway, I might give these 64,5 mm stock cb 900 set a try.
Any input from you guys "in the know" is appriciated.
Cheers.........................Per, from Sweden.
