CB550 Carb Identification
« on: June 17, 2020, 02:09:10 AM »
Is there any way to differentiate the early CB550 carbs from the later (PD?) carbs? I'm pretty sure mine are the early version but I want to make sure before I order an airbox from Steel Dragon.

Thanks

Just have a look at the number stamped in. Pics below show where you can find them,.

Do yourself a favour. Compare engine- and framenumber of yours with those listed in the first few pages of the various CB550 Parts Lists. They are all here: http://www.honda4fun.com/materiale-documentazione-tecnica/parts-list/parts-list-cb550 You only have to do this once. For the rest of your life you will know what exact model you have, so what you can expect. Realise that wire diagrams may differ for various markets. Therefore you need the 'area code' that you also find there.
