Topic: Running light question

I’m trying to cut down unnecessary wiring runs and would like to power my neutral and oil pressure light from my running light (I plan on having my headlight be permanently on via the m-unit). That way I’m only running the grounds back to the switches

Is there any reason I should or cannot do this - i cannot see any issue, lights are LED’s

I can run the headlight on the moment my m-unit comes alive correct?

Or should I just run a single wire up to the headlight from aux on the m-unit to power

Oil pressure light
Gauge backlight x 2 (rpm and mph gauges)

 I'd keep the headlight separate, that's only because I've been going 75 in a group of bikes as far as you could see (both ways) and the bike next to me lost its headlight. He rode the next 30 miles using my headlight.
  The time my headlight went out on my bike (K4 in the late 70's) was a full moon night and I rode home on a backroad using my turn signals.

There is a separate port for LIGHT that you need to use. This dedicated port supports the function of HI/LO. And yes, it only requires a single wire to feed it, but separate wires to the component.

When I meant run a single light up to the headlight from AUX - I meant the headlight housing for a power source (sorry for the confusion), I have already ran the Light wire from / to the M-Unit along with the highbeam wire.

Don, any reason why you couldn't use the high beam with it being a separate entity as such

If you mean run a power source from AUX to the OIL, NEU indicator bulbs, then yes, that is precisely what AUX is for.

You can’t “tap” into HI to provide constant power since it is toggled from the handlebar switch.

I would have tapped into 'light', not high beam

But AUX seems to be the accepted one so I will use that
