Topic: barn (garage) find

I introduced myself last week and for those who wanted photos, here are the first after pulling out of the garage where it had been parked since 1980. On pix is in my garage after cleaning a fer spots on the exhaust, wheels and engine to see how well it will clean up. Note odo at 1918.0 Doesnt look like a screw has been removed, just the crash bar added. Oil is still clean. Inside the tank even looks ok. No key so I havent been able to get to the battery. (any quick ideas?) This one might be a keeper!

You can take it to a good locksmith and they can make a key to work. If that isn't an option then remove the ignition switch and take it in. Plus there are guys on the internet that sell original keys, you may be able to match it up from the numbers stamped on the ignition switch face.

seems the original owner was a hoarder.  Bought it new and rode it a bit. Last tab is 1980. Had a health scare and put it in the corner where it sat for 40 years. A friend turnewd me on to it and altho I really thought I was over motorcycles (almost 76) I couldnt let this one go. Probably could have stolen it but gave the guy a good price and will have some fun p[laying with it. Thanks

Yes,very nice Bike ! There are numbers stamped on the outside of your ign switch,and sellers online that will sell you an NOS key with that number.

Great looking bike - nice find!  But, we need the manditory photo taken from the front that shows the tasty 4 into 1 factory exhaust to prove it's a Super Sport!

It's not easy, but you can get to the nuts that hold the latch onto the seat. I think I had to remove the bolts on the sides of the fenders to move it down a little bit. It was tedious and took about 30 minutes of tiny movements to loosen the nut enough to get it off.

Oh, and the battery is accessed through the left side cover, not under the seat. Once the battery is replaced you can easily hot wire it with a single wire.
