I was having some problems with the valve train, so I have a rebuilt head waiting to go on.  Hopefully that will take care of it!

So I got the bike all back together.  Still more stuff to come but until I get more time/money, this is the way it'll be. More pictures to come also, this is just what I have on my computer.





I've put 800 some miles on over the last 4 days, 550 in one trip.  The photos where taken after day one of that trip.

So over the weekend I took some time and made myself a new brake lever.  It is a little over top strength wise, but I dont have a lot of tools and it was easier to make this way.  I also should have designed it so lever sat up a bit higher, I can make a new backing plate later that should fix that.

Wow, thats beefy.  What happened to the old seat pan?  Did you need the space for 2-up riding?

Yeah its probably a little over beefy... I still have the Cafe seat and tail, I just need to finish the new mounts for it.  I wanted to at least have the option to be able to have 2up, also nice for longer trips so I have a place to lash a bag down.  Hopefully over the next couple weeks I can get the Cafe seat set back up

Hey, I love your thread so far and the progress is awesome! I also have a 77 cb750f and am interested in doing the same tail mod as you. Just wondering if you have any other photos of it so i can see how you did the brackets and seat pan! Id really appreciate it! thanks!

Back from the dead! - It's been just over 8 years, and I am just wrapping up another round of work on the CB750...  As is typically the case, other parts of life took precedence over motorcycle projects.  I rode the 750 in it's previous build from 2012 until 2015 (barely rode, I should say).  In 2015, I had a little more time for wrenching, found a space to work in, and decided that it was time to make a couple of small updates.  Planned updates included a new rear brake master cylinder, clean up the existing wiring, and re-install turn signals.  From 2015 until 2020 - I successful in partially disassembling the bike and not much else.  Queue up the global pandemic and Stay at Home Orders, and suddenly I had extra time and a partially disassembled motorcycle in the garage. 

This is what I have accomplished during this round (split by category, kind of):
Electrical
--Completely rewired the entire bike, designed all new circuiting, all new wire in concentric twisted looms where possible
--Installed Solid State Regulator/Rectifier
--Installed Morimoto 5 Stop Taillight
--Swapped headlight bucket and installed Morimoto LED Headlight
--Installed Revival Cycles Supernova Turnsignals
--New fuse block, headlight, and turn signal relays
Brakes
--Upgraded front to rebuilt 1982 GL1000 2 piston calipers
--Front master cylinder from 2012 Triumph Daytona
--Rear master cylinder from 2004 RMZ250
Engine
--Install K&N Pods
--Rebuilt Carbs, jet for K&N Pods
--New choke lever (shimano friction shift lever)
--General tune-up/adjust (cam chain, valve clearance, etc.)
--Fabricate new silencer hanger, clean and repaint exhaust
--Updates to oiltank vent/return piping
Chassis/Body
--New Gauge mounts
--New tail section infill/taillight mount
--Rework seat pan
--New seat foam
--New seat cover
--"legal" temporary license plate mount

I am still sorting through some jetting issues (pods of course) and have a few more changes to make before calling it "done" for this year.  It sure feels nice to have it on the road again.
