wiring woes on a 87' honda rebel 250
« on: June 29, 2020, 12:26:45 PM »
I posted in a Honda rebel forum looking for some help regarding my current electrical problem but to no avail. I know its probably a long shot, but if anyone can provide some help, I would be very grateful.

Last season I decided to give my girl friends 87 honda rebel 250 a face lift with some LED aftermarket turn signals, both front and back. They were simple plug and play lights. And for the remainder of last season, they worked perfectly. I started up the bike a few times during the winter just to check to see if the battery was still alive. While it was running in my garage I flicked all the switches and noticed that the Right side indicators would start out flashing real slow for a little while before picking up their pace.

Fast forward to this spring and now I have a different problem. The left side indicators work perfectly, but the single indicator light on the dash doesn't light up at all when I flick the turn signal switch to the left (so left side signals work but the indicator light doesn't light up at all). When I flick the turn signal switch to the right, neither the front or back right side lights come on at all, but the indicator light on the dash will blink on and off (so turn signals do not light up at all but indicator light flashes).

I thought maybe the issue was due to the LED's so I installed an aftermarket LED flasher relay but the same problem still persisted.

I know its probably a longshot, but if anyone on here is familiar with rebel 250 wiring and can offer some help on my situation, I'd be very grateful.
