750 seat compatibility
« on: June 30, 2020, 01:40:34 PM »
I got a '76 CB750K6.
The PO had installed a "King & Queen" seat that I'd like to replace.
Can I fit a '76 750F1 super sport seat to it without frame modification.
Will it fit with the K6 tank. (and not look too weird).
whats involved fitting the tail light to the super sport seat cowl.

Thanks

No, not a direct swap. Seats and tanks are different lengths. Hinge too maybe?
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Yes the hinges are completely different. You can use any seat from a 1970 up to a 1976 if they are all K models. Maybe some people will post links to some reasonably priced re-pops out there. There's a good chance your king and queen still has an original Honda seat pan also if your handy.

KO-2 had a different latch and it’s held on by two bolts. You’ll have an easier fit if you get K3-6 seats, the latching pin (held on by two studs with washers and nuts, allowing for minor alignment adjustment) will fit directly into your lock. They are easy to spot, they also have the plastic lid that Honda called a “document holder”. K7 and K8 seats are different again......

Forgot about the latch system but will fit if that's eliminated. I bought a K5 chopper that came with a K0 ducktail seat which was kind of a bonus. Still have it on there.

thanks for all the info everybody.
guess I'll just get a foam & cover kit when the time comes as I believe the seat-pan to be original.
there was/is a '76 750F1 seat for sale on the local Craigslist W/cowl for a reasonable price ($150)
