OEM Replace Voltage Regulator Rectifier should I update?
« on: July 09, 2020, 06:30:41 PM »
My OEM K1 system is working fine but is there any advantage to replacing with current solid state combined unit
Should I bin The OEM stuff just because its 49 years old?
I’ve read that That original v regulators last forever but rectifiers???
It’s almost small enough to carry a new one  as a spare but we’re do you stop on carrying spare stuff
I’ve had great results with Ricks products

The oem stuff is great
I put a modern one in my K3 and saved the oem. I’m not sure it makes much difference but it takes up less space.
However, there is a recent thread here about a Schotkey rectifier, not sure I spelled it right, very interesting read.

I think the only thing that can actually hurt them is hooking up the battery backwards...so don't do that
If it works good, it looks good...
