Hey guys, I'm going to remove my clutch's starter interlock switch. I understand that there is a diode in place that stops the neutral light from coming on when the clutch is pulled in. If I short the wiring to defeat the switch, do I need that diode in line to keep the neutral light functioning as it should? And if so, does anyone know the spec of that diode?
Thanks in advance,

'78 CB550 in nice shape, I'm working on all the maintenance that it needs. Bike only has 14,091 miles, but lots and lots of things need some attention. I'm working on some front end of the bike stuff right now, rebuild front brake system, replace lines, etc...wheel bearings (because why not), tires, tubes, strips, clutch pack, clutch cable, oil change, fork seals and oil replacement. Lots to come, I'm sure many more questions will ensue. My goal for the bike is something like "What if the factory wanted to clean up the bike." So, little visual cleanups and tidying up along with a completely new electrical system are on the list. Today's question is a "for now" question so I can get the bike riding and enjoy it. This is going to be one of those mechanical restorations that gets stripped down after everything is working and then it'll get the frame powdercoated and tins painted, etc...
