I've been K0'd again!
« on: February 25, 2022, 11:16:20 AM »
Just brought it home on Wednesday along with a 1981 CBX.The 750 is not quite correct and not finished but that's the fun of it. 836 kit, Yamiya body work kit, lots of spare bits and pieces. A project the previos owner gave up on to buy a Hertz Mustang. Here I go again.

Nice finds Cliff. A friend of mine who owned a CBX like yours claimed that they were the best for actually riding out on the road with a better suspension etc..  You have to be running out of room at your place with all those nice bikes !! Are you putting anything out on the chopping block ? Are they both runners right now ?  Keep up the good hunt.

Hi Eric.I am running out of room again. I had a 12 x 14 shed built for some of the bikes to give me more room in the shop, then these 2 popped up so it's approaching full again. I couldn't pass these up. No, I'm not selling anything. Both bikes run. The CBX is a rider right now. The K0 needs some work and parts to finish it and make it a rider true to it's year. The previous owner had the CBX for 10 years and the K0 for 7, it was very hard for him to part with them but he set a "reasonable" price for everything including manuals, totes of parts, a spare CBX engine and more. He's into Mustangs now, a Hertz Mustang and a 1965 convertible. He  wouldn't let them go until he knew his purchase of the Hertz was complete. He said they were his babies. I guessI'll be him in the future. Cliff.

Those Hertz Mustangs have a cool history. Here's one of but many links for maybe some of the folks who have not heard of them before. https://www.hemmings.com/stories/2019/09/25/history-hertz-rent-a-racer-shelby-gt-h
Please give us a ride review of your new toys sometime here in the future.  Eric

Great find. Congrats! My ‘81 CBX is one of the few bikes I regret selling. A true mileage cobbler.

Nice deal, I really like the CBX. I nearly bought a new one in 82' but with only two years riding experience and I only weighed 122lbs back then I decided it was a little too much bike for me at the time. I bought a new Honda V45 Sabre that fit me much better. I would like to ride one now but it's unless it was a barn find in good condition it's not in the cards. I'll be alright with the bikes we have now. 8)
