The sun faded your boots!

Thanks Trevor, yep I ratted thru my wardrobe and found a brand new pair of "Made in the USA" "Redwing" boots. The red ones were OK, but not real comfortable to walk in, so they've gone back in the wardrobe, and the Redwings are my new favourites. ;D

It might be time to change your tag line.  ;D

It’s a few days short of 2 months now since I have had a ride and there is snow on the ground and the street, 6f this morning. Listening to the weather men and their forecasts you might have expected the apocalypse but it turned out to be 2 1/2” of snow.
April 15 is my target date for first ride of 2022 unless I get a rental and go to KeyWest (just dreaming it)
I was lucky to get my 11/8/2021 ride in after 20 days off, completing the 21x100x2021 challenge.
Our second car is in the driveway. Windows doors trunk hood might be frozen shut but the CB is warm and dry inside. Remote start will help to thaw the car.

I think it’s been at least two months since I’ve actually “ridden” my CB (or anything for that matter). Started out with a leaking carb float problem that spilled into #1 head. Rebuilt all carbs but it was getting cold in the garage so it took a couple of days. That done and with no leaks, I sync’d the carbs and ran it. Felt strong in all gears, but it’s been snowing for about 8 days and temps below 20*f. Not too good riding conditions to set new plugs and check how it’s burning fuel. This is taking some getting used to as I moved here from SoCal about 7 months ago and nearly everyday was a riding day there.

I rode the 70 nugget on Christmas eve. Just a few miles around the neighborhood, also got the 78 Goldwing out for a lap.

Christmas eve here also. It was about 48 degrees. Rode about 2 hours on back roads, delivered some gift cards and then stopped and topped off the fuel tank yet again.

You need to build a CB750 snowmobile Per! It looks pretty too, like the stupid Christmas Cards we get here, when there's not a pine tree or a snowman anywhere near Oz..... ;D

I do not like winter. Best thing then is garage time working on bikes. Garage is too warm in summer when sun is heating up the door, leaking in.

See this as a late X-mas card for you, Terry! ;D

We have lots of pine trees around here. Forest a few hundred meters away!
Lots of Spruce too, the Christmas tree here. I guess you have Christmas tree down there looking totally different ;)

We like to watch TV shows about buing properties in Spain...... Winter is almost 5 months of waste.... Most of Nov-March.

I dont mind the winter cold and snow so much. It slows and quiets the world.
The 15 hours of darkness and gray skies gets me down.

I don't like winter either Per. Here in Oz I live in the second coldest state, only Tasmania gets colder than Victoria, and if I had my way I'd have a house in Queensland as well as here in Melbourne, so I could spend my winters in Brisbane and summers in Melbourne, but unless I win the lottery, that's not gonna happen.

I know that my winters aren't as miserable as yours, but as I'm riddled with Osteo Arthritis, it's not much fun riding on cold days. Still, I shouldn't b1tch, I'm still able to ride, so that's a bonus. ;D

Our houses are well insulated with 3 glass windows and good heating system so it will never feel cold inside.

Climate near the sea can be worse when air is humid, the cold goes thru the clothes.

What are your heating bills like Per? Our house is heated by natural gas, so from around May thru to October my heating bill peaks at around $400 USD for 3 months worth of gas, but because I'm old and broken I get various discounts which take it down to about $250. In summer I have a "Swamp Cooler" which costs almost nothing to run (around $0.02 per hour when it's on) so my electricity bill never goes much higher than $250 per 3 months. ;D

We have distributed hot water via an underground piping system all over the town. Heated at a power plant.

That hot water enter my house. I have a heating central with 2 heat exchangers. One for radiators another for tap water. All consumed water is cold when enter the house. Very cost effective.

Radiators start to work mid Sept to May. There is an outdoor sensor placed on north side of the house. I can adjust how warm to have inside. Aiming for 21C daytime, 19C night  I hade set the time for when day vs night switch on.
The hot water cost is higher when really needed. A certain amount /Mwh.
Summer time really low, tap water only.
Most Nov-March.
The house usually consume around 16Mwh/year +/- 0.5. Heating and tap warm water.

I checked now, the last 12 months 17.5 Mwh.
Charged $1648 US

Global warming....really???
Coldest last 12 months since I moved into the house soon 18 years ago. Not overheating the house.

Electricity is separate, usually 5-6Mwh/year.
Last 12 months 5Mwh
$1000 US.
So no AC in the short summer when it can be hot.

But that will be much higher due to  politicians closing safe nuclear power plants. Trust the wind ...

The cost is going wild when forced to import and burning more oil.....  People that has not seen this in time heating their houses with electricity get huge bills. Freeze or go bancruptcy.

People that can use woodburners, not that good to spread that smoke.

The other end of the scale here mate, I haven't ridden anything apart  from riding my Suzuki T500 around my local streets to test my new speedo a few days ago. It's been close to 100 deg F here every day for the last couple of weeks, and while there's some rain on the way, the temps aren't forecast to drop any time soon. At least when you're cold you can put on an electric vest/pants/gloves etc, when it's hot you can't do diddly to make yourself cooler on a bike, even riding really fast doesn't seem to make much difference........ ;D

I've seen "cool suits" in racing cars here Per, a refrigerated drink cooler pumps cold water thru the suit, which works quite well. I could probably tow a trailer behind my Triumph Rocket III with the cool suit equipment and a long hose, but I'd be getting close to thinking that I may as well just drive a car. Good thing is in a few weeks it'll be fantastic riding weather for the next few months. ;D

100* can be rough. Here it gets up around there on hot days in the peak of summer, and humid. Gotta hydrate and embrace the sweat.

I have no heated gear, not sure the CB750 alternator has enough chooch for that. I think I found my lower limit today. I was fine going in to work at 22* this morning, a bit cold for a 16 mile ride but I was fine with one red light coming off the freeway to warm my hands. Coming home at 25* was brutal on all back roads the whole way. Stopped once for a minute to warm hands even though I was hitting lights. For some reason the ride home always feels colder. Not sure how I feel about tomorrow with a colder 13* overnight, but the high will be above freezing, warmer than today.

I think it's time for heated gloves.
