A pretty neat little program with satellite images, thankfully not real time :) ;)

Download it and see what you think!

There's a lot of fun to be had cruising around on that program RM.  Some areas seem to have much higher resolution than others.  I can see my house and shop in my 50' wide lot quite clearly.. I think I can see your red F2 leaning up against the garden shed in your back yard too. :D

now that google owns sketchup as well, they've been working on "3D'ing" many places.  sketchup was born in boulder by the way  :)  that can explain denver being mostly built in 3D by now.  (because boulder is not far from denver  ;) )

You only just discovered it RM, it's a fantastic toy ;D

There was a link going round of a great shot of someones house in the UK, I'll see if I can find it.

You can't actually see his house, because at the time the arial shot was taken the RAF's BoB memorial Lancaster was directly overhead :o

Nellis AFB is well worth a look to, there's a couple of F117's on the apron, amongst a bunch of other stuff 8)

Hey David, your link is better than mine, all I see for Check Virginia is a big
blur :) But, your shop is marked on the Canadian Ministry of Defense most watch
sites. Seems you have stocked piled an excessive amount of spit balls and
are considered a threat :)

Heffay, neat 3D, but the cars looked like smashed beer cans ;D ;D

I've heard some people have set up websites with GPS coordinates you can enter in to Google Earth and find such things as women sunbathing, etc... :o

What scares me is people have the time to comb through billions of square miles of Earth's surface to find this stuff! :P

<  taking a class this semester "web visualization / e-participation"
so far we've checked out google earth, arc gis, lots of e-vocabulary like e-democracy... now we're in the process of html and web design.  very fast paced since we're only in week 4.
anyway, about the combing the globe... i'd bet that most of those sites don't really do much combing but, have coordinates submitted by the mighty power of the web and its ability to tell us anything with the proper keywords.
