I have a front fender where the chrome is a bit thin and just a little bit of rust,I would like to get it re-chromed:not show chrome but standard and thicker than oem Honda. How expensive is that to do ?

It's going to be tough to find a shop that will rechrome something with rust. As it will contaminate there dipping tank. You may find a place that will do it if you blast it to bare metal everywhere. As far as cost I'm not sure. It may be cheaper to find a good condition used fender instead honestly

I was texting with someone from AUS who had all his chrome parts done for $1000 AUS and he said they used a type of copper coating prior to chrome plating the parts that filled-in any rust pitted marks. That bike looked like new.
The fender I have is just mildly with some slight chrome peel around it.I suppose i could have it plated with some other material or even powder coated bright, shiny silver:mainly just want to retard the slight rusty pitting on the top/front side(the rest of it's good) before the bracket in the center.

In Canada, chroming is way more expensive than buying a completely now part! A few years ago, I got quotes for the original turn signal stalks on my Benelli Sei. $250! Bought new Moto Guzzi repro Parts (they are identical, and chrome plate) for 1/2 the price...... go figure.

I think there are still NOS front fenders in stock from Honda.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
