New to the SOHC 750

Yep been riding since 1968 and only my second 750.   Just bought a 3100 mile 750 home for a project.   Will go back to OEM specs.   Has not run since 85, but stored inside. It is very good condition and everything is there.   Put a jump Box on it and it power up And starter spun it over.    Don’t think it has spark.  The clutch switch wire is cut.   Anyway ready to get going on this.   I have looked a spares prices and they are a heck of a lot cheaper than my recent CBX project

First off, welcome!  Looks like a nice find.  Is the battery good?  These bikes need a good one for spark.

Check resistance st the plug caps, they go bad, easy to fix.

No battery, used a jump box.    It spins and has compression.  Now to start waking it up.

   Welcome to the forum Rick.Looks like a great find. Is it a 73 or 74 ? Sure it has an interesting story you will have to fill us in sometime. I'm guessing you are the second or maybe third owner. Carb check and clean,gas tank clean,give it a little tune-up with fresh plugs and oil,maybe break the clutch loose if needed, go through the front brake and your probably good to go for a first start-up. Sure you know the drill after doing that pretty CBX.  Its always fun working on the good stuff !   Eric

I notice the main ground wire is loose. How is the wire/frame connection? Could be corrosion there.

I’m not sure that’s where the ground should mount to.   I’m going to do some homework before screwing with anything.    I have done some cars but I rather do a cycle as I don’t have to lean over it or crawl under it.   

What’s up with having to enter verification letters every time I post
