1982 Suzuki GS1100E Mr Turbo - videos

A couple videos of the project I just finished, still waiting for dyno tune/jetting with the Mikuni HSR42 I put on.  Showing off, trying to make my 73 Honda comes out as well but it's a steeper hill.

Cleaned and painted.

First start after 24 years.

Sounds good.......I always liked that year GS. A good looking bike.

I had an 82' EZ model also.That champagne color is very easy to live with  8)
75' CB400F/'bunch o' parts' & 81' CB125S modded to a 'CB200S'
  I love the small ones too !

Finally got back from the tuner after over 2 months, but it's OK, he took real good care of me and got the bike running sweet.  Here's one of the dyno runs, 182 at the wheel ain't bad.   Got some things to tweak, forks too mushy, need better brake pads (haha).

Have you considered installing the speedo from the 83' GS1100ED model into your instrument cluster? My EZ was stock and it buried the speedo with only the first couple gears.

Well it'd still bury it... and I'm looking at the road not the speedo if going that fast. But that begin said it's a cool idea, if I could find one cheap I'd probably do it.

I think it would look better on That bike especially.Those 85mph speedos...  ::)

Possibly a frame mounted 1/2 fairing also?

yep, mine with the 85mph speedo does that too...so ridiculous

Looks like a great bike mate, and with that much RWBHP will scare lots of modern superbikes too, in a straight line, at least. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Finally was ready to ride after new EBC brake pads arrived today and I mounted a 100/90-18 on the front, the pic shows the 110/90 which was too chunky, and it's now on the '73 CB750.  I also put some spacers in the forks and they help with the mushiness, but will probably get some new springs soon.  Anyway, it was not to be, I am having some electrical issues, I think a bad ground. I'll sort it out though, hopefully tomorrow. I recall the big GS handled a lot better than the '82 KZ1000 I got new - I traded rides with my Air Force pal and loved the GS, way better than the KZ which was no slouch, but power and handling much better on the GS.

Looks like a great bike mate, and with that much RWBHP will scare lots of modern superbikes too, in a straight line, at least. ;D

With that much GO,you might want to consider giving that bike's front forks the Race Tech treatment.

Yeah mate, that's for sure, Suzuki copied Kawasaki's engines to the point where some parts are interchangeable, but their frames were way better, the 8 valve GS1000E/S/G were without doubt the best handling Japanese bikes of the 1970's. No comparison to modern bikes though, hence my "in a straight line" comment, a modern 600 will kick your arse in the twisties. ;D

Someone didn't tighten the caliper brace bolt Derek, best buy another caliper. ;D
