A friend of a friend invited us up to his property last week to give us 2 Cb750's. We didn't know what to expect, turns out one was a Nov. 69 1013xxxx with original engine. I'm sure most non CB750 lovers would have let it rot where it lay as you can see in the pic. We of course dragged it out the bush road as the rear was locked up solid.
This led me to looking up production numbers of the 69-70 model years and I am once again confused by the math. Since the frame numbers are contiguous through to 1971, the 69 sand cast at 7414 and 70 years at 53,400 (according to this forum) add up to 60,814 which does not make sense. From frame # 7414 to the beginning of the K1 is only 37,392 frames. I can understand more engines (unstamped) were manufactured than frames but the math doesn't work. Maybe someone here can explain.
