Broken exhaust Stud
« on: July 25, 2020, 11:37:32 AM »
Looks like it snapped and the original owner tried to drill it out (poorly). What's the beat way to fix it at this point? Just yank the head and have a machine shop drill it out and put a helicoil in?

Run a search for how to dissolve steel using a paste made of the spice ALUM and water. Tip the engine up so that the studs point upward, build up around the stud hole with modeling clay, mix your alum and water and pour it in. Check every few hours and refill as needed. It'll dissolve steel but leave aluminum alone.
