Looking for some guidance
I recently purchased this 78cb750k and am looking to do some modifications, but I want to make sure I do them in the correct order so I don’t order the wrong sizes and such. I’m looking for some guidance about where to start and what to tackle first. Also trying to source these used if possible to not spend so much!
I am looking to do the following
1. Gxsr fork swap kit via cognito (comes with new clutch and new brake setup)
2.rear Disc conversion via cognito
3. Replace front and rear rims and tires (unsure about size, Im 6’2 and 215 lbs)
4. Bondo and paint tank ( there’s some dings and paint chips)- also need new badges (unsure of where to source)
5 new headlight and brackets (taking suggestions)
6. New exhaust (any suggestions?) perhaps a carpys or hindle?
7. Hagon or ikon rear suspension (open to suggestions here)
8. Air intake box (cognito)
9. Tuffside seat (hopefully no need to rehoop)

I will be attempting to do a lot of this myself. I previously owned a similar bike with similar conversions but had a load of help.
Apologies if this is in the wrong forum and is such a large topic. I appreciate any advice

If that has the PD style carbs you will be forever chasing your tail if you modify the intake system

Welcome aboard the forum mrector
You have put it in the correct section of the forum. I haven't done these modifications but others have.
I have a few questions for you.
Do you know these 78 750s or are you new to them?(introduce yourself and your bike in the new members section is always a good idea)
Do you have this bike running properly to know what it should run like before you make the modifications especially to the airbox? This is most important where you should start. We don't know what condition you bought your bike in.
Do you have a picture of what you want it to be like?
On the forks, are you going with standard early GSXR forks or newer inverted forks? Are they the same length as the 750 stock forks or shorter changing the stance of your 750?

Change of stance as newday puts it is a change in rake and trail which have significant potential to affect turning tip in (handling) as well as high speed stability, etc.

First of all,
Thanks for being so welcoming yall, It is much appreciated
1. I’m Mark, currently living in Austin, TX. I run a detox facility down here for drug addiction and alcoholism. I also ride a 2017 triumph bonneville t120.
This bike is my project bike I plan on spending a couple years upgrading and messing with. I picked It up recently and It runs beautifully (just had It checked out by some local experts). Mileage is unknown, but handles well and operates soundly. Timing is good, starts right up, runs smoothly

2. Having owned a 78 cb750 in the past, I am slightly familiar with the bike. Id say my knowledge of this bike is about a 3/10. I understand most jargon thrown around on the forums. I can take apart and clean the carbs or install various parts, but am limited as I don’t have a lift to do everything I want (yet)

3. Forks would come from cognitos conversion kit. I believe the kit includes the 2011-2015 GSX-R600 forks & GSX-R750 Front end.
I don’t want to change anything about the stance. As I rather enjoy how it’s current state maneuvers
4. I included a picture of my old cb750 build. Id like to get It as close to this as possible, with a different overall aesthetic with the paint.

Hey Mark
That's a great thing you are doing with helping people straighten out their lives. I have friends that run some of the U-Turn 4 Christ ranches.

The T120 is a great bike.
I cropped your picture. That is changing the stance. But I do like the upside-down forks, if only they were longer.....

Could I set up a fork extension or increase rims and tire size?
Maybe run and 18 in front and back
