rear brake squeal Q?
« on: August 11, 2020, 08:57:12 PM »
The rear brake on my 750 squeals when used. I have previously replaced the brake shoes and sanded the drum. When I take it apart is there anything else to check? Brake grease on the pivots? One one or more bikes I've used the ebc segmented shoes with good results but this is on my sandcast. (I know you can't see the shoes)

Drum brakes squeal when the shoe-to-backing-plate contact points need lubrication.

Goes without saying but, do not get any on the brake shoe or hub surfaces. Make sure you clean it down thoroughly if you do.
