CB400F - Primary drive chain guide
« on: August 04, 2020, 10:35:13 AM »
Just started putting my engine back together.

Can someone advise which way the primary drive chain guide fits in the lower case?

Outside the two bolts, one end is longer than the other and it has a small hole/depression in it.
Does this go at the bottom, by the oil pan, or the other way round?

Can it be seen by removing the oil pan? If so, I could check my spare motor.

You might just be able to see the end and maybe feel if that little hole is there if you can’t see it.

That’d be great if you could.

The dot goes toward the oil pan.

Wow! That’s a great pic!

I was just about to say I had found the answer in Nurse Julie’s rebuild thread on teh UK site:
http://www.sohc.co.uk/index.php/topic,14049.105.html

However the pic there was not as smart as yours  ;D

Thanks!
Nurse Julie is great, I had a brain fart and she was the first one who had the correct answer for me.
Good luck with your build!
