My ‘71 Bonny

   Here’s my 1971 Triumph Bonneville, my 4th vintage Triumph. I’ve stupidly sold the previous 3, buyers remorse!

had a 71 too,used to vibrate the tank and cause leaks at the front seam,the single bolt mount was not a great idea,the 69/70s were better,but I liked my norton better than all of them

 I like them. Had a 72. The OIF apparently made them handle a little better but the purists insist the earlier ones are better.
Maybe, maybe not?

it ran well but,I did not like the oil in frame,or the tank mounting system on mine

The OIF didn't bother me. Although I did read that they could develop a leak if the kick starter was overly used while it was on its main stand.

But have to admit , I wrestled abit with tank mounting too. I found it was good when I got the rubbers and the bolt all
in the exact right position but that was more luck than skill.

 nice. I am surprised at how affordable these bikes still are.  I can get a nice Bonnie for leases than a nice K1.

Another thing I liked was how light they are.
Recently sold a couple of bikes and seriously considered buying a 68 tiger. nearly.

Had a couple of rides on an 850 electric start. First ride ,nursed it around the place, didn't think much of it.
Second ride I got up it a bit. WOW, It was a different bike. I loved it.
