Airbox question request?
« on: August 06, 2020, 11:34:41 AM »
So I was given a cb750 K airbox, for free.

There's a few differences, notable the intake "lips" and the breather hose+ vacume tube.

Most of this seems doable with some time and effort.

But the opening lip, would someone measure how big an opening it is? Mine has two smaller, but seems to be similar size openings.

I want to compare the intake holes to see if they're close enough to work (is let same amount of air in).

Anyway, thank you to anyone willing to whip out a rules and check!

🖤-Cassie

P.S. bikes is slowly coming together, but small snags keep smacking me .

Hi Cassie,

I don't own either bike but are you talking about needing the ID to the rubber that goes from the carb to the airbox?  If yes, you can probably just take the rubber off the carb and see if the one end fits in your airbox.

At least from dealing with my CM400A the intake (not airbox) has different ID between the manual and hondamatic.

I just did a quick check on Partzilla and the part numbers are different for these rubbers so you may be out of luck unless you can find some sort of hose that won't disintegrate or fab up something to adapt it.

If you can't make it work someone does have a CB750A airbox available for about $90-$100 shipped on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-1977-CB750A-Hondamatic-77-CB750-OEM-Airbox-Assembly-Air-Box-Filter-Chamber/274449633082
