Not sure at all, that’s why I’m here asking. I’ve not seen this before but hoping someone else has and knows what it is before I attempt to remedy it.

guess that's rust under those "worms". you'll know if you pick at one....

heard an old wives tale about not to wax chrome as it stops it from "breathing" and actually promotes rust.....hmm....I wax mine....

looks like an nos or a repop fender will be in the works......like to see more bike pics...

Is it smooth?  Highly doubt there is any way to repair it.

no...the bike it was on was not particularly "mint"  Yeah, plenty of used fenders out there as well.

The best looking CB750 fenders I have seen are rechromed ones.

My NOS CB750 fenders from David silver did not look that good when I assembled them 11/2 years ago.

So, if fender really has bad chrome it is possible to fix it if not dented.

I has a nice polished top fin on my 750 motor, had it under pastic one winter and it ended up with squiggly grey marks like that on the polished surface.... that would not come out by hand with polish..
 I am sure it's condensation related and same thing on fender. .

I’m hoping it’s coated ... but I don’t think it is. Bit of a bummer. Fortunately, I have another one. This one I’ll try and save and if it fails it’ll go into the “for café racers” pile.

Haha. Yes, I watched a fender get rechromed and holy moly there was so work, and a number of huge vats, involved.

I have another fender, this one will go on the café racer build affectionately known as “miss piggy” on the count that some of the secondhand parts I sourced were painted pink.
